Steve Kornacki recently shared the heartbreaking news that his mother, Anne B. (Ramonas) Kornacki, passed away at the age of 77. On Sunday, he posted a heartfelt tribute to her on Instagram, accompanied by a nostalgic childhood photo of him sitting on her lap, smiling as he drank from a soda can.

Reflecting on the picture, Kornacki wrote, "I found this picture and gave it to my mom for her birthday a few years ago. I see love, care, and happiness (and probably a little worry that I’d spill the soda). That’s what I felt from her my whole life." He continued, "I lost her on Friday. I’m so lucky she was able to see so much of my life, even if no amount of time could ever be enough." He ended the post by saying, "No offense to anyone out there, but my mom was the best mom."

On Tuesday, Kornacki posted a screenshot of his mother's obituary on X, simply captioning it, “Anne B. (Ramonas) Kornacki, 1947-2024.”

The obituary described Anne Kornacki as a loving native of Waterbury, Connecticut, and a "devoted wife, mother, grandma, and sister." It noted that she passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Sept. 13, at Midcoast Hospital in Brunswick, Maine, surrounded by her family.

Anne married Stephan J. Kornacki in 1973, and they enjoyed over 50 years of marriage together. They had two children, Steve and Katie Kornacki, and eventually opened a bed and breakfast. After selling it, the couple moved to Brunswick, Maine, where they continued to welcome friends and family into their home.

Her obituary highlighted her legendary hospitality and the immense joy she found in becoming a grandmother three years ago. Anne Kornacki is survived by her husband, children, granddaughter, son-in-law Brian Duffy, and three brothers.

Funeral services for Anne will be held on Friday.
