"I Want to Talk to Daddy…" — The Heartbreak of Abhinav’s 8-Year-Old Son After the Plane Crash
8-year-old Vivaan awaits his father, unaware of his tragic death in the Ahmedabad-London plane crash that shook the nation and claimed hundreds of lives.

The devastating plane crash that claimed the lives of hundreds has left behind a trail of shattered families and stories filled with pain. Among them is the heart-wrenching story of eight-year-old Vivaan, who just wants to talk to his father—unaware that his world has changed forever.
Vivaan, who had just returned from London with his mother, was eagerly looking forward to meeting his father, Abhinav, in India. He had left London with a heart full of excitement. But by the time he landed on Friday night, tragedy had already struck. Abhinav was no longer alive.
Still unaware of his father's death, little Vivaan has been asking repeatedly, “Where’s Papa? I want to talk to him.”
Abhinav’s wife rushed to Ahmedabad with Vivaan after receiving the dreadful news. The family is now grappling with both emotional agony and formalities. A relative, Ashish, told TV9 Bharatvarsh that he had travelled from Bikaner as soon as he heard about the crash. He provided a DNA sample to help authorities identify Abhinav’s body. “We’ve been told it may take up to 72 hours to complete the process,” he said.
A Brilliant Mind Lost Too Soon
Originally from Rajasthan, Abhinav was a topper in his studies—driven, ambitious, and always eager to try something new. After relocating to Ahmedabad with his family, he later moved to London for work. But even there, he nurtured dreams of becoming an entrepreneur. He was preparing to start his own export-import venture.
Tragically, a personal loss brought him back to India. Abhinav had come home following the death of his beloved grandfather. It was an emotional visit. He had even called his mother from the airport before boarding the return flight, saying he’d call again once he reached London. That call never came.

A National Tragedy
The entire nation was stunned when the Air India flight from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick crashed shortly after takeoff on Thursday. The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner was carrying 242 people, including 169 Indian nationals, 53 British citizens, 7 Portuguese citizens, and 1 Canadian. Tragically, only one person survived the crash.
The sole survivor, British national Vishwakumar Ramesh, is currently receiving treatment at a local hospital. Meanwhile, the crash also claimed the lives of at least eight residents of the Ahmedabad area, including four medical students.
As the country mourns the loss of so many lives, the haunting voice of a child still echoes: “I want to talk to Daddy.”
