Police Inspector Shailesh Salvi, while giving information about Akshay Shinde's death case in a police encounter, said that, "The primary aspect of the incident is that Akshay Shinde was registered in Badlapur police station for the sexual assault of two young students of Badlapur. Also, another case was registered against Akshay Shinde in the police station. Akshay Shinde's wife filed a case against him. The police were investigating the case filed by Akshay Shinde's wife. To investigate the matter, the police had legally taken custody of the said accused from Taloja Jail with the transfer order of the court. Later, while the police were taking Akshay Shinde away, the accused grabbed the policeman's gun and tried to attack the policemen fatally," informed the police.
"In this regard, a case under section 307 has been registered at the Mumbra police station. Also under the new law, a case has been registered under sections 262, 132, 109, 121 of the Indian Penal Code. Also the accused is dead. A case of sudden death has also been filed in this regard. Both these cases are being investigated by the Thane Police Commissionerate", informed Senior Police Inspector Shailesh Salvi.
