Farmer's Day Organized in Etah under the Chairmanship of District Magistrate

Etah . A Farmer's Day programme** was organized today at the Collectorate Auditorium in Etah under the chairmanship of the District Magistrate. Progressive farmers, members of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), and women farmers from various development blocks of the district actively participated in the event. During the programme, the District Magistrate attentively listened to the issues raised by the farmers. The major concerns included:

★ The need for proper verification of jowar (sorghum) clusters by the Senior Marketing Inspector.

★ Ensuring a systematic procurement process for paddy.

★ Facilitating easier access to bank loans for FPOs to conduct various agricultural activities — as requested by the Assistant Project Officer (APO). Women agricultural workers —

Krishi Sakhi* Vimlesh and Kumari Chaman from Nidhouli Kalan — shared valuable insights on **natural farming practices. The Deputy Director of Agriculture urged farmers to register on the government portal to avail of free Oilseed Mini Kits** from state agricultural seed stores. The District Horticulture Officer briefed farmers about various departmental schemes related to spice cultivation, vegetable farming, and food processing.

 Meanwhile, the District Agriculture Officer informed that there is sufficient stock of fertilizers in the district and requested farmers to refrain from hoarding. In his concluding address, the District Magistrate directed the Deputy Director of Agriculture to compile all the issues raised during the event and forward them to the respective officials for prompt resolution. He emphasized the importance of continuous awareness and timely administrative action to address farmers' concerns, especially ensuring there are **no investment-related challenges during the upcoming Rabi season.

The District Magistrate also flagged off an awareness campaign vehicle to promote proper crop residue management** and discourage the burning of stubble among farmers. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, marking the successful completion of Farmer's Day in Etah.
