Etah Loksabha : Out of 80 parliamentary constituencies of Uttar Pradesh, Etah parliamentary constituency is currently occupied by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Rajveer Singh, son of veteran BJP leader Kalyan Singh, represents the BJP in the Lok Sabha from Etah parliamentary constituency. He is also counted among the successful representatives of political families. If we look at the Election Commission's 2014 figures, there are a total of more than 16 lakh voters on this seat.

Rajveer Singh was born on 15 March 1959 to Kalyan Singh and Ramvati Devi. He was born in Madhauli, a village in Aligarh district of Uttar Pradesh. Singh's educational qualification includes B.A. Is included. And L.L.B. Degree from Agra University. He married Premlata Verma on 20 February 1988.

Rajveer Singh- Raju Bhaiya Political Career

Rajveer Singh is a Member of Parliament and belongs to the Bharatiya Janata Party. In the year 2019, he was elected as the Member of Parliament in the 17th Lok Sabha representing Etah, Uttar Pradesh. Furthermore, he was elected as a Member of Parliament in the 16th Lok Sabha from Etah constituency in the year 2014. Furthermore, he was elected as a member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly from Dibai constituency through by-election in the year 2002. Rajveer Singh is also known by this name – Raju Bhaiya.

History of Etah  Loksabha

This parliamentary constituency has been in existence since the first Lok Sabha elections held in the country in 1952. When Lok Sabha elections were held here for the first time, Indian National Congress candidate Rohanlal Chaturvedi had reached the Lok Sabha. Then in the elections of 1957 and 1962, Hindu Mahasabha candidate Vishanchandra Seth reached the Lok Sabha. After that, in 1967 and 1971, Congress candidate Rohanlal Chaturvedi won and reached the Lok Sabha. In the 16 Lok Sabha elections held so far, political parties of nationalist origin, Hindu Mahasabha and BJP, have won maximum 8 times, while Congress and 4 times, parties of socialist origin have won the elections from here.

Socialist leader Mahakdeep Singh Shakya reached Lok Sabha from here in 1977. Later, he joined BJP and continued winning Lok Sabha elections in 1989, 1991, 1996 and 1998. Then in 1999 and 2004, SP leader Dr. Devendra Singh Yadav represented this prestigious seat in the Lok Sabha.

BJP leader Rajveer Singh has won from here in the Lok Sabha elections held in the year 2014. This parliamentary constituency is also important in the sense that former Chief Minister of UP and Governor of Rajasthan, Kalyan Singh had won the elections from here in the year 2009 on the ticket of his newly formed party.


After delimitation in 2008, the nature of this parliamentary seat changed. Now 5 assembly constituencies come under this Lok Sabha seat. They are Kasganj, Amanpur, Patiali, Etah and Marhara.


The special thing is that all these 5 assembly seats are held by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Since Bharatiya Janata Party is ruling in Center and Uttar Pradesh. Therefore, BJP's position can be said to be very strong here.

Talking about the caste equations of this seat, it is a seat dominated by Lodh, Yadav and Shakya voters. There is also a significant number of voters from Brahmin, Kshatriya, Vaishya, Jat, Gujar, Saini and Dalit castes. Muslim voter is also decisive here. If we look at the Election Commission's 2014 data, there are a total of more than 16 lakh voters in this seat, out of which more than 8 lakh 50 thousand are men and more than 7 lakh 20 thousand are women.

The contest on this seat will mainly be between the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Samajwadi Party alliance.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, riding on the boat of Modi wave, Rajveer Singh contested from Etah Lok Sabha seat. Rajveer Singh again became the MP of Etah, waving the saffron flag.
