Stampede in Bhole Baba's satsang, 90 people died, CM Yogi took cognizance
Hathras Incident: CM Yogi took cognizance, investigation is on.
A major accident took place on Tuesday in Phulrai village of Sikandrarao town in Hathras district of Uttar Pradesh. Bhole Baba's satsang was going on here. When the crowd started coming out after the satsang ended, a stampede broke out. Women and children were badly crushed in this stampede. There was screaming and shouting on the spot. Many people died in the accident. The injured have been sent to Medical College Etah, so far 27 people have been confirmed dead. The total number of dead is said to be 90, whose bodies have been sent to Aligarh. CM Yogi has also taken cognizance of this accident.
Etah SSP Rajesh Kumar Singh said that a religious event was going on in Sikandrarao town of Hathras district at the time of the stampede. So far 27 bodies have arrived at Etah hospital, including 23 women, three children and a man. The injured have not yet reached the hospital. The accident is under investigation and 27 bodies are being identified.
Eyewitness statement of the accident
A young woman who was an eyewitness to the incident said that there was a huge crowd at the satsang. When people started leaving after the satsang was over, there was a stampede. People were not able to see each other and women and children kept falling. The crowd was running over them, and there was no one to save them. There was screaming all around.
