Security guard of Star Point Convent arrested for sexually assaulting 3-year-old girl

Nagpur: In a shocking incident, a middle-aged security guard of Star Point Convent School in Nandanvan area was arrested for allegedly sexually abusing a three-and-a-half-year-old girl inside the school premises last week.

The accused has been identified as Anil Chauhan.

Nandanvan police were shocked when investigations revealed that the school's CCTV cameras were not available for reference. The incident has once again raised security concerns among parents in the state's second capital.

According to police sources, the matter came to light when the minor had problems wetting the bed. Next, when the parents took her into confidence, she shared her ordeal.

Following the parents' complaint, Nandanvan police booked Chauhan under relevant sections of the POCSO Act 2012 and arrested him.
