Night Warmers, Cooler Day's in November

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday predicted that most of northwest, central and western India, are likely to experience below-normal maximum temperatures in November while nights are likely to remain warmer than usual. However, above-normal minimum temperatures are expected across most regions, except for some areas in the northwest.

IMD Director General said that below-normal, maximum temperatures are forecast for most parts of the country in November while, the western Himalayan region, the Himalayan foothills, much of northeast India, and parts of the southern peninsula are likely to witness above-normal maximum temperatures. Meteorologists note that November marks a transition period between the retreating monsoon and the onset of winter. During this time, Western Disturbances play a key role in shaping temperature trends and rainfall across northern and central India. “The active western disturbances will bring significant variability in temperature and rainfall patterns over the next few weeks.”
